DESCRIPTION:
Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) Inlet NOx Sensor-Drift.
MONITORED PARAMETER:
Engine in NOx.
TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:
The following must be true for greater than 30 seconds:
1. Fuel mass is equal to 0.
2. Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) outlet temperature is greater than 200°C (392°F).
3. Battery voltage greater than 10 vDC.
4. Engine speed between 500 to 2100 rpm.
MONITOR SEQUENCE:
None
EXECUTION FREQUENCY:
Continuous when enabling conditions met.
TYPICAL DURATION:
5
DASH LAMPS:
MIL
ENGINE REACTION:
None
VERIFICATION:
1. Insuring battery voltage greater than 10 vDC.
2. Perform a stationary regeneration.
3. Run the vehicle, fully loaded, down a grade or on a motored chassis dynamometer such that DPF outlet temperature is greater than 200°C (392°F) and fuel mass is 0 for greater than 30s.
NOTE: If any other EGR codes are active, fix those first.
PROBABLE CAUSES:
1. Inspect the entire air inlet system, charge air cooler, and EGR piping/hoses.
2. Check for failed injector.
3. Check the aftertreatment system for leaks/damage.
4. Perform a high idle regeneration.
