This fault sets when ambient and inlet manifold pressure difference is out of range under a load.
MONITORED PARAMETER:
Inlet manifold pressure and barometric pressure.
TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:
1. Engine Speed (rpm)
– Min: 1350
– Max: 1800
2. Engine Torque
– Min: 1400 N·m
– Max: 3000 N·m
3. Intake Air Throttle Position
– Max: 5%
4. Engine Coolant Outlet Temperature
– 65°C (149°F)
MONITOR SEQUENCE:
None
EXECUTION FREQUENCY:
Continuous when enabling conditions met.
TYPICAL DURATION:
40 seconds
DASH LAMPS:
1. SEL
2. CEL
3. MIL
ENGINE REACTION:
25% Derate + Engine Shutdown.
VERIFICATION:
1. Once engine is at standard operating temperature.
2. Drive at highway speed with loaded trailer between 1350 to 1800 rpm continuously for five minutes.
PROBABLE CAUSES:
1. Failed inlet manifold pressure sensor.
2. Inlet manifold pressure sensor connector/harness.
3. Charge air cooler failure.
