DESCRIPTION:
This code sets when the Intake Throttle Valve position has A 15% deviation from the position commanded by the Motor Control Module (MCM) when the engine coolant temperature is above 60°C (140°F)
MONITORED PARAMETER:
Intake Throttle Valve (ITV)
TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:
Coolant temperature is greater than 60°C (140°F).
MONITOR SEQUENCE:
None
EXECUTION FREQUENCY:
Continuous when enabling conditions met.
TYPICAL DURATION:
Five seconds
DASH LAMPS:
1. MIL
2. CEL
ENGINE REACTION:
10% Derate
VERIFICATION:
Engine rpm = 600 rpm or higher.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
1. Faulty ITV motor.
2. Faulty ITV position sensor.
3. Sticking ITV.
PROBABLE CAUSES:
1. Air throttle valve harness.
2. ITV harness connector.
3. Intake throttle valve failure.
4. Cold temperatures may falsely cause this code to appear.
5. Intake throttle valve sensor.
